ELF Studio Foundation Palette | Swatch & First Impression

30 January 2016, Saturday | 2.28am

I'm honestly excited for this post to be up. I finally went to fix my NX3300 at the service centre and the flipscreen/LCD/viewfinder is replaced! So yeah to that! Filming and photo-taking is taking place from now on again!

When it comes to beauty and makeup products, I feel like we are not as adventurous these days as compared to our fashion choices. Yes, having Instagram in 2015 had impact many girls (including myself) in terms of the outfits we picked on a sometimes daily basis. But I do have to give credits to Sephora which has outdone themselves by bringing brands like MBMJ, Moonshot and 3CE. One thing I would like is really for them to have more US brands like Kat Von D, Hard Candy & Anastasia Beverly Hills. That way, I feel like the beauty/makeup scene would have a major level up.

My point is, I really wanna to step out of the beauty comfort zone we have in Singapore and venture out and try makeup brands that are not YET available in Singapore. So my goal for 2016 for my blog as well as my Youtube channel is to try out more products and find out whose selling them and share it with you!

To kickstart a new year, we are going to venture into the basics of makeup! Foundation! I'm absolutely in love with foundations (especially full coverage ones) and the first brand that I want to share with you is ELF!

This foundation palette is one of their newest collection so I really wanted to try them out to see how they perform.

I bought these two palette from Carousell. Search "jessilogy" - this is the seller that I purchased from.
If not, search "ELF Studio Foundation Palette" and look out for the seller name. They cost $13 each.

Right: Medium/Dark

I did a first impression video on these two foundation palette and I did a full face demo. Using these two palette, I did my foundation, under-eye concealing as well as contouring. So if you're like to see me in action, click below!

End Of January 2015

Three more days till the end of January 2016. (and I'm taking a really long time to type down the next line..) I feel 50/50 about this month like there's so many things to be happy/content/grateful about and of course as always, there's gonna be some downsides.

So let me breakdown my January 2016 here.

"The Positive 50"

(my dad just walked in requesting for me to play the korean drama that he stayed up at least 24 hours last night to watch. i told him to wait. :P)

Of course, I have to mention that it's my birthday month. I went hella crazy pampering myself with makeup hauls here and there. Carousell is my new best friend I tell you. I'm so so excited for the beauty products that I bought and I can't wait to share it with you!

My most recent video is on the Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks Swatches. They are amazing. I wanna be more adventurous with makeup products so I bought a bunch of products from brands that aren't necessary in store in Singapore. Click here to watch it!

I'm at home most of the time now so I took the time to film and upload videos on Youtube. This might sound vain for some of you guys out there. But all I can say is this. One. Soaking myself in the world of beauty makes me genuinely happy. it's like how guys soak themselves in computer games. Two. You just don't understand and you honestly don't need to.

I've also taken the time to make plans for the content I'll like to have on my blog and youtube channel. Which again, I'm so excited for and can't wait to share with you!

Another positive 50 is that Jasper and I are getting the keys to our apartment really soon and we've just been in the anticipation mood for awhile now. Thinking of the walk-in wardrobe just makes me go all goo-goo-ee! Okay, don't know what's that supposed to be but you get me. :)

"The Negative 50"

I'm a self-proclaimed happy feet. I like to go out. It could be just going to the neighbourhood to get lunch or going to a new place to try some good food. I just love going out. Sometimes I get so bored at home, I'd hold a bag of chips and wander around my room, staring at Jasper. Then he'd ask me, "you bored ah?".

The photo you see above is the second and last outfit of the day I took this month! How sad! But another upside is that I've been planning outfits all month! Hehe.

I cracked my camera screen last month during the Taipei trip and that has make it really difficult to film, I can't see half the screen so... And because of that, I've been in a funk man. But I've gotten it fixed, so there'll be more videos from now!

I feel like I'm getting a little withdrawal symptoms since my last job. I didn't think I'll miss working but I do. Let's just stop right here on this point.

This is a light-hearted reflection of the month. There will be one post every end of month. Stay tuned!

Lip Swatch | Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Hey, I know I've been MIA for a while. But it's my birthday month! I've been half mopping and had celebrating my "joyful" 24th.

I've been so excited about these liquid lipsticks and they definitely don't disappoint at all!

A full review of all colours will be coming as soon as I've become best friends with all nine colours!

Hope you like this video! (p.s. lots of !)

Acne Coverage Foundation Routine

I've had acne since my teenage years and it's honestly quite difficult for me to imagine days without a zit or two. But that's okay, over the years I've learnt to accept the way I am and stay happy the way I am.

I feel like confidence comes with age and that's really what makes me comfortable in my own skin lately. But of course, we want to look presentable and sometimes pretty for ourselves. In this video, I'm going to show you how use beauty products to cover my acne scarrings.

Hope you learn a thing or two.

xx.

Birthday Wishlist (Beauty Edition)

Yup, it's that time of the year again. My birthday. As I grow older, the excitement and anticipation that comes along with the day I was born is much less anticipated. I mean of course, it's another opportunity to meet up with close friends to have dinner and catch up on each other's lives but I'd hate to +1 to my current number.

This morning when I woke up, I picked up my phone and looked at the time. Then I saw Saturday, 2 January. In my mind, "no... 12 more days to being 24..." Dropped the phone and dived my head back into my pillow. Wake me up when it's over.

But again, my life motto has always been - don't fret over matters that you have no control over. Shrug it off, walk away and when it comes, own it like a champion! (no not really, but i'll try).

To perk myself up, I'm gonna come up with a birthday wish list! Hehe.

1. Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette
2. Limecrime Velvetines

3. Colorpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks

4. Sephora Collection Lustre Matte Liquid Lipstick

5. Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder

6. NARS Creamy Concealer in Custard

7. MAC Lipstick - Velvet Teddy & Lipliner - Whirl

8. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector - Opal

9. Sigma Brushes (really just fancy the F80 & F82)

10. MAC Brush #180 or ELF Small Stipple Brush

My 5 favourite song of 2015

This is not a Spotify-sponsored post. The reason why I'm putting this picture above as a post starter is because it's where I find all my music and listen on the go. I've been subscribing for almost two years if not longer. Thought it'd be most appropriate to share with you where I listened to all my music from. :)

Anyways, it's the end of 2015 (or more like the start of 2016) and it might be too late for a blog post like this but I don't care. Haha.

I wouldn't proclaim that I listen to all types of music so I'll just say that I listen to music that flows into my ears without making it/me feel irritated.

1. Drive - Oh Wonder

Oh Wonder is a London-based pop duo. They release one song every month for a year since September 2014.

Once in a while I would browse through Spotify for new music and new bands and awhile back, I found them! I believe Drive was the first song that I heard and I immediately started download their album on Spotify and hit replay for the next couple of month.

Favorite lyrics

Sat back with the window down
Eighty an hour with the radio loud
The same songs with same old rhymes
Tell me to shake it off and swing from the lights

2. Love Yourself - Justin Bieber

I like this song. But I loved this song the moment I found out Ed Sheeran co-wrote and sang in the song too. It's my survival song since I won't see Ed Sheeran anyway until September 2017.

3. Water Under The Bridge - Adele

This explains everything.

4. Shot At The Night - The Killers

This first time I listened to this song, I daydreamed about being in Vegas doing housekeeping. Like Maid in Manhattan. You feel me? Haha.

5. Shots - Broiler Remix

Throwing something more fast-paced into this mix, I can't help it but sing "shots! shots! shots!" when I listen to this song. It's just such a great pick-me-up/get ready/i need to up my mood song.

---

And of course, I would've included all of Ed Sheeran's songs here to end of my playlist. That's how much I love his music!

Hope you enjoyed my short playlist!
