Back To School Outfit | School Girl

It's the first day back to school! I'm honestly really excited to get back to school and do something productive. (no really, i'm not kidding) I've been on holiday for two months. It's enough for now. I guess I was so excited that I couldn't fall asleep last night. But it could also be that mocha at I had last night with my girls (at around 11pm).

But nonetheless, I kinda pre-planned what I want to wear the day before and was super excited to wear my new ASOS Pleated Skort. I LOVE IT!

I saw this on sale on and I was sold with the teal color. I love my teals and maroons so I just couldn't resist not buying it. (especially since it's on sale too) I never thought I'll like it so much until I wore it out this morning. It REALLY felt like secondary school again because my secondary school skirt had a similar design to this, with the pleated side.

Review | Lush Mask Of Magnaminty

Description taken from Lush :

"Mask of Magnaminty isn’t technically a daily ‘facial wash’; it’s actually a deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation..."

Ramblings :

I've always wanted to try Lush's products but I never really get to going to the store at Wisma and checking the products out. Because firstly, it's honestly quite intimidating when you first step into the store looking at all the unfamiliar labels staring back at you. And secondly, I was skeptical (like always) when it comes to trying a new brand for my sensitive skin.

So what I'll recommend is, do your research. Read up about the products, check their reviews out on the Internet (e.g. or Youtube. There's bound to be mixed reviews about any one product. Most importantly, use your better judgement on your skin condition and knowledge on the type of product you wish to buy, take a chance and try it.

The reason why I bought it was because I saw Claire Marshall, a vlogger on Youtube (she's awesome) and she was raving about this mask on one of her favorites video. I trusted her thoughts on it mainly because she's asian too, so that's an identifier. (i'm asian too :P) So I guess if it suits her, it might work for me as well!

First, based on the description above...

1. Deep Cleansing Mask - CHECKED
2. Tingly-clean Sensation - CHECKED

I've used the mask for 3 months now and I'm loving it. I use this once every two days because I put on makeup frequently and my skin needed some loving once in a while to keep it fresh and free of impurities.

It really does deep cleanse your pores.

These days I like to apply the mask when I first got off from bed. Cleanse my face with a little facial foam. Dry it. Apply the mask. Wait for 10 minutes. Head to shower.

This way, my skin feels really refreshed right from the start of the day and eventually I'd feel good throughout the entire day with my skin.

Bare In Mind that teeny pimples might surface for the first few times when you apply it. I find this pretty normal, considering the fact that it is a cleansing mask and impurities are bound to resurface. There's nothing a little benzoyl perozide can't treat though.

My skin has gotten a lot better with frequent use of the mask. My skin looks brighter and healthier now. Acne and pimples don't visit me much now. (thank god)

My Valentine This Valentine

This one year has changed me a lot. In ways i would've never expected. I feel much more comfortable in my own skin and expressing myself. It wouldn't have been the same without my valentine.

Food | Breeks Cafe

Can't quite remember the exact names of what we ate. : P

Took this picture just cuz it looked like something you might see under a microscope. (cells)

Love you! Muacks!

My Love.

A year has passed by so quickly. I'm grateful to have you by my side. Taking me to wherever I want to be. Being there. Being understanding. Being patient. Being attentive. Making things happen for me. A year ago, I was unsure of many things. I wouldn't say the same now. Because I'm sure of you. I love you.

Memory Lane | First Dates

13 February 2014

Once in a while, Jasper and I would go on dates to keep things fresh and somewhat different from our everyday life. To me, it's a reminder that we cannot take people/things for granted and should make effort to keep the relationship strong.

I met him at Bugis since he had to make a trip to his office to settle work stuff and had steamboat for dinner. Had Cupid's Truffle from Baskin Robbins for dessert and it's AWESOME. You should try it.

We also went to Statelander, a new cafe at 30 Bali Lane to support his friend. I have to say that their Belgian Waffle is really good. (having tried quite a few places for a waffle-maniac like me) Jasper had Egg Benedict and I was in love with the mushroom. :P (i'm not a food blogger and therefore can't find the right words to describe how it taste like in my mouth. just know that it's worth it.)

Usually when we're out, I don't particularly have any specific places I wanna go and Jasper would usually decide on somewhere and I'll follow. (i'm pretty much the follower in this case) So we went to Gardens By the Bay (not sure if it's Bay East or South), but it's where we went during our first valentine's date last year.

Happy memories!

Lorac Pro Palette | Gold & Garnet

Gold and Garnet are the two main colors that I used to create this look. Since I wanted the eye makeup to be the center of attention I kept the overall makeup simple with thick brows, pink lips and lightly-contoured cheeks.

This look emphasizes the importance of having nicely drawn eyebrows. Without it, there's definitely a missing piece and the eyeshadows wouldn't be as eye-catching as it ought to be.

Let's get into application.

1. Gold was my base color.
2. Garnet was for my outer corner, crease and bottom lash line.
3. Taupe was my blending color.
4. Cream was my highlighting color.
5. Eyeliner Time!
6. Multiple coats of MASCARA!

MUFE | Sculpting Kit

Alright, so I've been crazy about contouring and highlighting lately and I couldn't get enough of it. Like drawing your eyebrows, it defines and sculptures your face. I guess this is what makes makeup interesting. It's a different form of art where you can be creative with the techniques and colors.

I always believe that Practice Makes Perfect when it comes to applying makeup. Contouring and highlighting was never something that I dabbled with. Mainly because it isn't the trend the girls in Singapore are going for. It's not that I'm making a judgement. I'm saying this based on what I see on the streets and other social media channels. Most girls aim for fair complexion, rosy cheeks and your-lips-but-better lip colors. And there's nothing wrong with that. They're natural, versatile and 'everyday'.

I used to like that kind of look; clean, natural. But over time (with much experimenting), I know what colors that suited me better and really, my personal style. It was not until the end of 2013 that I started exploring with contouring my face. (mainly my cheekbones. i have a big face)

At first I would contour when I'm just going out to run errands or have brunch with Jasper. And while driving/after we've reached home, I would ask him if it looked natural or weird. He'll tell me his honest opinion and I'll improve on my technique.

So here we are now. Not quite the self-proclaimed professional YET. But definitely getting there.
(a girl must have confidence.)

Denim is Timeless.

Denim shorts is undoubtedly the easiest wardrobe essential to style. I've been wearing my H&M high-waist shorts (bought 2 years ago) to death and it might be a good time to purchase another. (in case it fails me by any means.) I went shopping a few days ago with my bff aka Clarinda and she saw this pair at Pull & Bear. When she showed it to me, I'm like "wooo, niceeeee....". So we tried it and ended up buying the same pair. :D

Worn out and Ripped is the way to go. There's just something missing when you wear denim shorts or jeans without it being a little worn out and having a few holes here and there. (come on, you know you like that too) This pair of high-waist short is honestly a tad too short. You can see from the photo above that is barely covers my butt. (and has that slight chance of flashing my butt cheeks)

Oversized Blazer!

I bought this blazer from F21 quite some time ago and (like always) been wanting to wear it out. But the scorching sun has been screaming, "bitch no." to me these past few weeks so I can't wear them out on CNY.

This look is really versatile. You could switch out my plain grey shirt to a sexy spaghetti top or really just anything and it'll still look great with the blazer. If you don't wanna feel like you showing too much skin, throwing over a nicely tailored blazer is the way to go.

Whenever we drive pass Spruce, I'll point it out to Jasper and tell him we should go there for brunch sometime. The building always captures my eye at the cross junction of the road. So after all the hectic visiting during CNY, Jasper told me he's bringing me out for brunch and (obviously) I got super excited.

We didn't have the car that day but getting there via public transport was pretty convenient. The restaurant was extraordinarily classy and spacious. It has a relaxing vibe and great for a couples' date (wink wink. valentine's day soon).

As usual, we ordered enough for a party for 4 instead of two. So we practically stuffed ourselves happy. The food was amazing, partly because we were starving but also because it was really well done. The beef was awesome. #storyofspruce

How can we not have our couple shot when we're out on a date? :)

Let's do matchy-matchy.

It's the 3rd day of Chinese New Year!

Even though making visits can get a little tiring with all that traveling, I think it feel good to see elderly smile when they see the younger generation go up to them, wishing them happy new year. It also makes me happy to see the little toddlers running around the house, creating that festive and happy atmosphere for everyone.

On the 3rd day, I went to wish Jasper's parents and grandma happy new year. It's our first new year together, so we're really just getting used to accommodating with each other's time and trying to visit places together.

Later that day, we just stayed at my place because my parents had everyone come over to gather!

(You sure blew me away.)

P.S. I'm not so good with blogging what I do day-to-day.

Chinese New Year 2014

It's always nice to see your relatives and catching up with each other during CNY. I didn't get much photos for Day 2 because all the hype usually happens on Day 1. So I want to share with you snippets of yesterday.

There was a lot of photo-taking that day mainly because I wanted to. So we took this right at the end of visiting in the day. Along with our newly adopted son. (Just kidding)

My Sister & Brother

We managed to take our couple shot in the evening at my sister's place. The steamboat was awesome and I had three runs of it. Couldn't get enough of the soup! We're definitely getting chubbier by the day.
