Dreamer Dream

Time Check: 30 December 2014, 5.25pm

Reality is kicking in. It's the end of 2014 and I'm excited about what's to come in 2015. As I grow older, time seems to pass faster, it's unbelievable. I'm not quite sure how I'm gonna spend the last day of 2014 (tomorrow) but hopefully it'd be peaceful.

I made a trip to Topman before Christmas because Jasper wanted a pair of jeans and I'm a sucker for window-shopping at Topshop. After I've picked out the pieces that I wanted to get for him, I had to shop for my own as well. (duh)

This outfit was really easy to put together. Topshop have these amazing knitted cropped top that's somewhat modest with the belly (and yes, i'm slightly insecure hence covering it up in most of the shots. oops) Love the dark olive green top. Love dark colors in general. Picked up the high-waist shorts from their sales rack as well.

Last but not least, the necklace is gifted to me by lylastore.com from winning a giveaway! It's chunkier that I thought when I opened the package but definitely a statement piece to have.

Brunch Date | Sunday Market

As much as I am a big foodie, I was never good at taking good, delicious foodie shots. And I could never wait till all the orders came to take an awesome all-in-one shot except when I'm with friends who would. Instead, I find myself taking pictures of my friends working it to take a couple of delicious shots.

We went to Sunday Market! Christy, Jasper and I went to Department of Caffeine last Saturday and I had this really good feeling after a good brunch and catch-up so I thought we should do brunch more often. So Christy and I set a date (which was the next saturday) and we got Adele to join us too!

The atmosphere was really festive with the christmas deco behind us and Adele was busy snapping away as usual. It was unexpectedly laidback and chill for a Saturday at the cafe unlike other busy cafes where I could hardly hear myself talk. (that, i appreciate very much) We hung out at the cafe for a good couple of hours then we went hunting for ootd-worthy places!

We had fun.

The Peach Box

Wanna give a little shoutout to my favourite #armswag online store - www.thepeachbox.com

To be honest, initially I was a little worried about shipping from Australia. I've never bought anything online from Australia and had no idea how the shipping works. The first purchase made was pretty nerve-wrecking. I have to admit I went a lil obsessive over tracking my package and even emailed them to get them to check out for me. Thankfully my first purchase came slightly shorter than two weeks and the guy (Andy) who replied my emails was really patient and friend, so I knew I was gonna make a second purchase soon.

And I did! It's during the black friday sale. And I mean, come on! How can I miss a good deal on arm candies! Bought the ring with the Roman Empress Ring and the Floating Crystal Bangle.

The bangles are the bomb. Ring.. not so much. I thought that's slightly overpriced, considering that fact that I could get another bangle with the same amount of money. But I do really love their bangles, good quality products that's able to last for long.

Here's a couple of snips from my Instagram.

Lookbook | Hey Sugar

Time check:
Currently 26 Dec 2014, 12.05am.

I hope everyone had a blast on Christmas Day. Mine was pretty fruitful and meaningful at the same time. It's been long since Jasper and I made plans to wake up early to head out and find cool places to take photos. So we did. Loved how the photos turned out. I guess we both see it as a creative outlet for us to do what we love. (him taking photos of his lovely subject - me - me playing dress-up)

I've never been comfortable with laces. I always had this perception that laces are real girly and it wouldn't work on me. But I guess I grew up, things changed, and my personal style is evolving.

When I saw the skirt on shopelr.com, I thought this might just work for me. Contrary to what I thought about laces, I really liked the intricate details of the hem and it makes the entire outfit looked really feminine on me.

You

---

Sometimes you stop what you're doing for a minute and you realized there's no one else's life that you wanted. You knew you wanted to make more out of life.

You realized that as much as the world is revolving, as much as life goes on, you're painfully stagnant right where you are.

You wake up one day thinking of making this day different than most of others, you ended up doing absolutely nothing vastly different.

Because change is not what you embrace. You embrace stability and security. Which, never fails to sound like your national anthem.

Lookbook | I Could Be Crazy

Yeah to my 100th post! It's been more than a year since I started ladyreveur.com and I only managed to upload a hundredth. I so need to step up my game here. It's sad to say that I haven't had much time for this space and doing the things I do, but I'd like to believe that what I'm doing now brings me closer to where I want to be perhaps in 2-3 years time. I'd also like to believe that it's never too late to chase my dream as long as I'm ready for it. But until then, let's take it slow from here.

Honestly, I wish it could be fall all year round. The atmosphere is romantic, the colors for fall fashion is my absolute love. Warm colors, thick coats and black boots... I think I'll be stuck in fall in my mind... Which, brings me to this post! I bought this coat on a whim at Pull&Bear a few weeks ago for my impending trip in March to a cold place. (shh...) And even though it's so hot in Singapore, I still want to wear it out or at least for one of my lookbook. So this is the day.

Close-up shots were taken indoor just because I'll definitely start sweating in buckets if we did it outdoor. I decided not to spend time on my hair for this lookbook because I've always curl my hair for most lookbooks I had. Thought it'd be nice to have a change once in a while. Also, I've been into nude lipsticks lately. What do you guys think about it?

Lookbook | Faux Faux

I'm back with another lookbook! It's been so long since I lay tummy-flat on my bed and start typing. I'm currently so so obsessed with One by Ed Sheeran. I can't even. I've been listening to it for the past weeks and I'm not done with it yet, so...

all my friends have gone to find~
another place to let their hearts collide,
 just promise me,
you never leave again, cuz you are the only one...

Same old has been going on. Worked really hard at work. I know it's a little thick-skinned to say you worked really hard at work but I really did. Put in much effort to meet expectations of myself as well as others. Bombs are dropped and I slowly got the hang of handling them one at a time. (you'll know what i mean if you're working in a corporate world)

I've gotta admit that I'm quite the spender. Not to say that I don't save at all. I do. But I like to reward myself for the effort I put in to earn that money. (little spending won't hurt nobody. just the fact that it's a little every week *insert smiley face) I've been looking at leather jacket for quite some time and didn't have the urge to buy one until now. I was browsing on Nastygal, walking into ZARA, occasionally bumping into Pull&Bear but just want to commit to getting one unless I'm very sure I like it.

Jasper and I went to Topshop @ Vivocity and I saw this baby. First thing - the price. We know how faux leather jackets could be overpriced online and in store and considering the number of times I get to wear it in Singapore, I didn't think it's logical to spend over $200 for one. This costs me $129, which I thought is pretty reasonable. Why? Second thing - fit. The shoulder pad is just the right size for me as well as the length of the sleeve. After trying a couple of jackets in different stores, these two came up as the most important factors when I consider buying one. (yes, this is getting boring and logical. cuz you know it's quite pricey for something you don't wear all the time)

Okay, enough rambling.

Lookbook | Sky High

This has been my office look for a couple months now and I know it's slightly awkward to wear the same outfit to work especially so when this skirt is so striking and would be really obvious if you re-wear it. But truth be told, sometimes I really don't care what others think about what I wear and other times I just feel confident in this getup that I couldn't be bothered with opinions. *cheers to that

The patterns on the skirt caught my eyes when I saw it at one of the boutique at Bangkok. Can't quite remember the exact location that I bought it from though. After trying midi skirt a while back, I think to wear it right and to look good in it, you have to know your body well. For me, I can't have the midi skirt hanging to low (just above my hips), the proportion looks wrong and just weird. So wherever I wear a midi out, I make sure I wear it somewhat like a high-waist skirt.

side note:

this pair of heels from nastygal is freaking high. it's definitely at least a 5-inch without platforms in front. which, means that it's incredible to walk in. it looks really sexy and shapes the calves and feet in a good way but the pain comes in after about 2-3 hours after wearing. so brace yourself if you're interested in getting heels like that.

Lookbook | Fall is where my heart is

Of all the four seasons, fall is definite my favorite. I love the colors, the knits and the layering. Even though unfortunately the weather in Singapore doesn't really allow thick coats and cardigans, it's nice to have a rainy day once in a while to wear them out.

My cardigan is from Pull & Bear. I think they have the best knits ever~ This was a loot from their sales rack and I'm so in love. But obviously there's a reason why it's on the sale rack - it's pretty thick. Normal girls would think it's too much for Singapore weather but once I laid my eyes on it, I want it.

My top is from Bangkok, it's revealing. Period. Jasper couldn't stand the look of it cuz I might expose my bra anytime. My skirt is from bugis street, great buy but just a little small. Haha. And obviously my boots is from Nastygal.

Lookbook | Satin Edge

Finally another lookbook for the weekend~!

Some fashionista are risk-takers, they don't conform to a particular style or stick to a fashion trend for long at any one time. I definitely don't see myself as a fashionista in the first place, I just like to put together pieces that I feel comfortable in and still look chic at the same time. I feel that dressing up and styling your outfits day to day is a form of self-expression. It shows off your personality in different ways and it does makes you feel good about yourself at the end of the day.

Sometimes when I wonder about questions like, "what's my personal style?" or "what's my signature in any outfits?" I tend to gravitate towards answers like, "my messy, tousled hair." or "my cool, come close but not too close face". Whenever I get ready to head out to take lookbooks with Jasper, I make sure my hair is at least messy/wavy. And about the smile, I just don't do good with smiling in my shots. Tested and proven.

I got my Satin Edge Dress from FLEURAW. This is my first purchase from the online store and I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. I try not to splurge on my first purchases online because you never know if the items they sell online are suitable for you or if the quality is good. So I would buy one item I just have to get there and then and see how it goes when it comes through my mail.

The material of the dress is really comfortable although a little short if you are considering to wear it to work. But it's definitely a good choice for a classic dinner date with your boyfriend or chilling out at a bar with your girls.

My love for heels is unbeatable (if there's such a term). I'm a die-hard believer that the shoes you choose for an outfit would either make or break the entire get-up. A simple black strappy heels would be safe choice. A nude pumps would give you points for that classic lady vibes. I chose my gold wedges for that edginess.

Lookbook | Hey Summer

I'm never a risk-taker when it comes to trying out a different style of clothing. For example, a crop top or let's say, a peplum top. There's something about them that makes me feel extra girly. I mean I'm a lady and I try to refrain from wearing pieces that may make me seem like I'm trying too hard to look young. (if you know what I mean) But with a face like mine, I don't think I'll look any younger even if I try. If I was smiling, I guess I could barely pull off the smiley girl with a (cute)crop top look. But I really couldn't make myself though.

With all that being said, both my top and bottom is from Bangkok and I'm really happy about my purchase. Firstly, it fits nicely. I tend to have problem with the cutting around the chest-armpit area because sometimes they don't fit like a glove to my body. Ha.

(second day hair is the best everybodeh~)
